Setting Up Tax Registration

Configure your tax registration status and rates in Officaid for accurate invoicing.

Get your tax details right from the start

If your business is registered for tax, configuring this in Officaid ensures the correct tax rates are applied to your invoices and financial records. Your tax registration details are managed from the My Company page and are used across the Finance module.

How to Set Up Tax Registration

  1. 1 Go to Admin → Company from the left sidebar
  2. 2 Click the Tax Registry quick action button
  3. 3 Toggle Registered for tax to on if your business is tax-registered
  4. 4 Enter your Tax Registration Number (this may be pre-filled if it matches your business registration number)
  5. 5 Review the Compliance Notes shown in the panel for reference
  6. 6 Click Update Tax Registry to save

Once saved, your tax registration details appear on the My Company overview page alongside your active tax rates.

The Compliance Notes displayed in the Tax Registry panel are for general reference only. Tax requirements vary by jurisdiction and change over time. For the latest requirements in your region, consult your tax authority or a qualified tax advisor.

Active and Historical Tax Rates

Officaid maintains a timeline of tax rates that have applied to your business. On the My Company page, the Active Taxes section shows your current rates by default.

Toggle Show Historical to view past tax rates alongside current ones. Each rate displays its applicable period and a Current or Historical badge so you can easily distinguish between them.

Historical tax rates are preserved so that older invoices and transactions continue to reflect the rate that was in effect at the time they were created.

You do not need to manually update tax rates when they change. Officaid tracks rate changes and applies the correct rate based on transaction dates.
