Your daily snapshot of team claims
The Overview tab is your starting point when you open the Claims module. It surfaces the most important information at a glance: claims waiting for your action, recent submissions across the team, and a summary of approved claims by category. No digging through filters or lists required.
How to Access the Overview
- 1 Navigate to Team from the left sidebar.
- 2 Click Claims from the submenu.
- 3 The Overview tab is selected by default.
Pending Approvals
The Pending Approvals section appears at the top left of the Overview. It lists all claims waiting for a decision. Each entry shows:
- Employee name.
- Claim Type such as Health Expenses or Transport/Travel Expenses.
- Date of the purchase.
- Amount being claimed.
Click on any row to open the Claim Request Details popup, where you can review the full claim including the receipt and take action.
When there are no pending claims, the section displays "No pending claims" so you know everything is up to date.
Recent Activity
The Recent Activity section on the right shows the latest claims across your team, regardless of status. Each entry displays:
- Employee name.
- Claim Type showing the claim category.
- Date of the purchase.
- Amount claimed.
- Status indicating Pending, Approved, or Paid.
This gives you visibility into what has been happening with claims recently, not just what needs action. Click on any row to open the Claim Request Details popup for that submission.
Claims Summary
The Claims Summary section at the bottom provides a visual breakdown of approved claims. It includes:
- Total spending showing the sum of approved claims for the selected period.
- Comparison indicating whether spending is up or down compared to the previous year.
- Pie chart visualizing the proportion of spending by claim type.
- Table breakdown listing each claim type with its total amount and number of requests.
Use the year filter in the top right corner of the summary section to view spending for different periods.
Viewing Claim Details
When you click on any claim in the Pending Approvals or Recent Activity sections, the Claim Request Details popup opens. This shows:
- Employee name and ID.
- Claim Type showing the claim category.
- Expense Date when the purchase occurred.
- Amount being claimed.
- Remarks containing any notes the employee provided.
- Receipt with a thumbnail preview and link to view the full image.
- History showing when the claim was submitted and any subsequent actions.
For pending claims, Approve and Reject buttons appear at the bottom. For claims already processed, you will see a Close button and, for paid claims, a View Payment button linking to the payable record.
Frequently Asked Questions
Approved means the claim has been accepted but not yet reimbursed. Paid means the employee has received payment. The status updates automatically when you record payment in Finance → Expenses → Payables.
The Recent Activity section shows the most recent claims. For more specific filtering by date range, use the All Claims tab where you can set custom date filters.
It compares total approved claims for the selected period against the same period in the previous year. This helps you understand whether claim spending is trending up or down.
