Applying for Leave

Submit leave requests in Officaid and track your balances all in one place.

Request time off in just a few clicks

Need to take a day off or plan an extended vacation? Officaid makes applying for leave simple. Submit your request, attach any required documents, and track the status all from your My Desk dashboard.

Before You Apply

Before submitting a leave request, check your leave balances in the Leave section of My Desk. This shows your entitlement, how many days you have used, and your remaining balance for each leave type.

How to Apply for Leave

  1. 1 Navigate to Me → My Desk.
  2. 2 Click Apply Leave in the Quick Actions panel, or click Apply Leave in the Leave section.
  3. 3 Select the Leave Type from the dropdown (e.g., Annual, Sick, Unpaid).
  4. 4 Choose the Start Date and End Date for your leave.
  5. 5 For each date, select Full Day or Half Day.
  6. 6 Review the Total Days calculated automatically.
  7. 7 Enter a Leave Reason explaining why you need the time off.
  8. 8 Attach a Supporting Document if required (e.g., medical certificate).
  9. 9 Click Submit Leave Request.

Your request is submitted and appears in the Recent Requests section with a Pending status.

Leave Application Form Details

The Apply Leave form includes:

  • Leave Type dropdown with all available leave types configured by your company.
  • Start Date and End Date with calendar pickers.
  • Full Day / Half Day radio buttons for each date.
  • Total Days calculated automatically based on your selections.
  • Leave Balance showing your remaining balance for the selected leave type.
  • Leave Reason text field for explaining your request.
  • Supporting Document upload area for attachments.
Some leave types may require supporting documents, such as a medical certificate for sick leave. Check your company's leave policy for requirements.

Leave Balances Panel

On the right side of the Apply Leave page, you can see your Leave Balances showing:

  • Type of leave
  • Entitled days for the year
  • Used days already taken
  • Balance remaining

This helps you verify you have enough leave available before submitting.

Recent Requests Panel

Below the Leave Balances, you can see your Recent Requests with their current status. This lets you track pending requests without returning to My Desk.

Uploading Supporting Documents

To attach a supporting document:

  1. 1 Click Select File or drag and drop a file into the upload area.
  2. 2 The file name appears in the upload field.
  3. 3 Submit your leave request with the document attached.

Frequently Asked Questions

Check the Recent Requests section in My Desk. Your request will show Approved, Rejected, or Pending. Click the eye icon to view the full details.

Yes. When selecting dates, choose the Half Day option for the start or end date. The Total Days will calculate accordingly (e.g., 0.5 for a half day).

You can still submit the request, but it may be rejected or require discussion with your manager. Consider applying for unpaid leave if you have exhausted your entitlement.
